An amazingly brave lady, a wonderful caring mother and loving wife.

In the early days Brenda worked hard on outdoor markets while raising 3 children and taking care of her disabled mother. She went into nursing when she was 35, specialising in Intensive Care Nursing, working at the Walsall Manor Hospital ICU for 26 years.

She liked an adventure – exotic holidays with friends as well as camping trips with a young family. She took up skiing when she was 50, took cycling holidays and after retiring joined the ramblers, completing the UK coast to coast walk when she was 69 years old!

In 2016 she was able to celebrate her 60th wedding anniversary with her husband Colin.  She cared for Colin who was in poor health and suffered with dementia for 3 years.  He passed away last December.

It was 11 years ago when Brenda was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer at the age of 72.  Luckily, due to being so fit (having joined a local gym after retirement), she survived a 5½ hour operation and many chemotherapy, radiotherapy and cyberknife treatments and had a good quality of life up until early 2020.

Brenda was a great friend and mother to her 3 daughters, a fantastic grandmother to her 3 grandchildren,  3 step-grandchildren and was step-great grandma to 4 great granddaughters, always supportive and thoughtful and will be sadly missed by us all.

Brenda had many friends from nursing, cycling club, Ramblers club, skiing, gym buddies from yoga, pilates and swimming.  She was always supportive, caring and helpful when they were in need and in turn they have always been there for Brenda when she needed them.  She will be sadly missed by many.
